The discussions on VisorCentral set a "last login" cookie which I assume is used to show which topics have new posts since I last visited the site.
The problem that I have with this is that I sometimes browse VC from home, sometimes from work. While it's not super-critical, it'd be nice if the "last login" information was associated with my userid on the VC bboard server. This way, my last login would actually be the last time I last visited VC, not the last time my browser last visited VC.
Whaddaya think?

It would also be nice if you only had to refuse the cookies from Burstnet, AvenueA, DoubleClick, etc. only once per session.
(When I tried to start typing this reply, I got two cookie offers each from Burstnet and AvenueA. One cookie per page is bad enough.)

I doubt they have any control over that; I believe that's the way UBB works and you should probably contact them with your request. I agree with you that it's a good idea. In fact, I've written BB software in ASP that works this way.

There are a variety of tools that will let you manage cookies better than the default handling of IE or NetScape. One option is to use WebWasher or Junkbuster which will block all ads and the cookies they send.
