Okay, well, I'm going to Staples to get my new Visor (really) soon. How do I get the files from my old Visor to my new one? Please reply NOW!

The easiest way is to backup your old Visor to a backup module and restore the module onto the new machine.

If you mean the data for your datebook, to-do list, memo pad, and address book, just HotSync your old Visor, then when you HotSync your new Visor, select the name for the old one (your new Visor will get that name). Your old databases will be put into your new Visor.

For add-on programs, either reinstall them from your download files or beam them from the old Visor to the new one. (Or borrow a backup module from someone, back up the old Visor, and plug the module into your new Visor and do a restore; if you do that, you'll get everything transferred.)

Maybe some BackupBuddy users could tell us: Is BackupBuddy shareware? If so, you could possibly download and install it, use it the once to transfer your stuff over, then delete it...

I should clarify: When you HotSync your new Visor for the first time, it won't have a name yet. HotSync Manager will ask you for a name and give you a menu with the old Visor's name and an option for a new name. Select the old name.

Welcome to the board, by the way!

Not all 3rd party files are backed up!!!

Supposedly BackupBuddy does all that, but programs like BackupAll and BackupBitster do the job perfectly (I've had lotsa experience), and are free.

1. Install BackupAll or whatever.
2. Click on Backup ALL.
3. Sync
4. Put in the new virgin Visor and hit the HotSync button.
