Unhappy

I can't believe this... Like most of you I got the Visor with a USB cradle. This worked however the HotSync program on the computer refused to sync ANY files (.prc or .pdb) above approx 130 KB. Needless to say this didn't allow me to install many much needed files like AvantGo and others. Soooo...I ordered a serial cradle in hopes of better luck syncing (my computer is so old that USB technology was brand-new at the time so I'm lucky I even have a port so I'm thinking that the port is badly designed or something). The cradle came 2 days before Christmas, but I didn't have a chance to try it until Christmas morning. I set everything up perfectly, made sure the correct COM port was selected, put it at the lowest speed, selected Local Serial and deselected Local USB. When I hit the HotSync button on the new cradle the Visor turned on and started looking for the PC. Nothing happened...until about a minute later when the Visor said that a connection could not be established. Now I'm REALLY frustrated and was wondering if anyone could help.
Thanks
