People must get into the JAVA code and find out the link they need to cash in points, so they recieve the order for a prize, but no points are used.

Another change- echo has now added a $10 amazon gift certificate. It's not as good a deal as the $18 certificate (670 echo points per dollar instead of 666.66 echo points per dollar) but it does let you get certificates more quickly.

I got some more of my echo certificates today. They seem to be doing them in batches since I got seven on the eleventh, and I got eleven today. I'm only owed fifteen more (total of 33 earned but unredeemed).

Now I just have to decide if I want to get that digital camera I was looking at once they all come in, or get a Prism instead.

Thanks for the referrals from all who used my link.

I just got two more today too. I'm expecting 3 more, and then I'm going to order my platinum (for the price of a Visor! )

Lightbulb

How exactly do you guys gain so many points?

I figured since my oc was on 24/7 I could just leave it up, but it disconnects all the time and I seem to be gaining points really slowly.

Whats the ticket?

The ticket WAS to do what you're doing, but they've changed the rules, so you can only get an $18 certificate every 2 months. Cei La Vie!

When they changed the program they tripled the cost of the gift certificates, and they also changed the program so that you can only get credit for 100 hours of listening per month (it had been 300).

The service is a lot more stable than it was early on, but it still goes down sometimes.

The main way to earn gift certificates faster is referrals. You get credit when you listen, but you also get credit when people that you referred to echo listen (just not as much), and people they referred, etc. The details are on the echo site.

I've got 42 direct referrals (three listening right now) and 185 indirect referrals. There doesn't seem to be a way to know how when your indirect referrals are listening, but you can see a list of your direct referrals and see which are listening.

Has anyone heard from echo in a while? I haven't gotten any rewards since November 10th and I now have six that are past eight weeks.

They used to send out automated replies, but I haven't gotten any of those either.

I kinda lost track of how many they owe me, but I just redeemed my points and I got the autoreply stating it will take 6-8 weeks.

FYI

Thanks. It's good to hear something coming from them at least. I've kept track of when I requested each reward and when I received it so that I'd be able to make sure they were within the 8 weeks promised. Things should get better soon since (at least according to my experience) they've almost finished clearing out the september reward requests. There shouldn't be nearly as many after that since they changed the program so significantly.

PS- I tried to use your amazon links when I used my first batch of amazon certificates. I hope it went through and gave you the referral credit.

You're welcome. It's the least I could do for one of my referrals.

I finally got a response from echo.com today. It's nigh-identical to the last response they sent me, but at least they're actually replying to their mail. Here it is:

quote:
Hi Aaron,

I apologize for the continued delay regarding your echo rewards. We are
working hard to process rewards for all of our listeners and will send your
prizes to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and again,
my most sincere apologies for this frustrating situation.

Sincerely,

Rachel Henes

Cool, maybe when I get my other gift certs I'll use that. I used the first batch I got to pick up a soundcard and new speakers for the PC I just built.

And they rock! (wife hates em)

Angry Echo.com/Amazon- slow reward redemption

I've now been waiting over eight weeks for seven promised gift certificates. Has anyone received a gift certificate from this program since 11/10/2000? I'm beginning to wonder if they're just waiting for additional funding before sending out the last of the September certificates. I'm also wondering if they have more than one or two employees working there right now since they've completely stopped responding to my email.

On a slightly better note, here are some Amazon discount codes that you can use for Visor stuff (well, one of them anyway).

Use the code AMZNELECTRNC to get $50 OFF ($200 min. purchase, Electronics
department only, expires 12/12)
Use the code AMZNCAMERAS2 to get $50 OFF ($200 min. purchase, Camera
department only, expires 12/12)
Use the code AMZN-CELL-PHNE to get $50 OFF ($100 min. purchase, Wireless
Phone department only, expires 12/31)

I finally got a real response from echo today when I asked if they'd send me something other than the same form letter I've gotten three times in the past week:

quote:
You will receive a more detailed letter explaining the reward delay on
Friday. Thank you for your continued patience.

Sincerely,

Rachel Henes

I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

They updated the Rewards FAQ with a Reward Turnaround question which basically says that it takes 6-8 weeks to recieve your reward and that if it's been more than 8 weeks you should e-mail them at [email protected] with the date you redeemed them. Hope that helps.

I've sent many emails to [email protected] and [email protected]. Still no sign of real help. I've only gotten occasional responses, mostly form letters. I've got one request I've been waiting almost 11 weeks for.
