I'm supposed to get a review unit for the @ctiveLink "soon," according to Glenayre's PR firm. I can't get any details from the company on pricing yet. While the company claims an August release date for the record, they actually seem to still be aiming for July.
My guess is that it won't automatically be set up to receive forwarded email. I can't remember where I saw the service provider's pricing plan, but it's metered on a "units" system, rather than a flat rate for unlimited use. I believe 10 characters = 1 unit, and the service is $24.95 per mo./1000 units (i.e. more expensive than the InfoMitt's one way service). So even if you could get all your email forwarded to the @ctiveLink, I don't think you'd want to: spam, .sig files and other frivolous email would count against your allotment of units.
I'm still anxious to get the unit, but increasingly I'm leaning toward the Minstrel S. The unit is expensive ($369) but it AT&T Wireless and Verizon are offering $24.95/mo. flat rate access, which is more attractive to me than self-consciously worrying about whether or not I'm going to run into overage charges (the number one complaint of Palm VII early adopters was the exhorbitant bills they received for exceeding their usage allotment).
The @ctiveLink seems adequate for Grafitti-based messaging, but with the advent of the Stowaway, I can imagine going through a 1000 units in no time.
