I know that people some times mean different things when they say hard reset so did you push the reset pin while holding down the power button? You should then get a message saying it will erase all of your data do you want to continue. This is a hard reset and will erase all of your data. If this is not what you did, before doing this try a warm reset as described below.
You could also try a warm reset by pushing the reset pin while pressing the up button. This will prevent hacks and programs from loading and will not delete your data. If you successfully "boot up", you could then delete the offending program.
In playing with a lot of programs, I have had to do a warm reset many times but only have had to do a hard reset once. (I tried to overclock with Afterburner too high on my Plat and things stopped working. Thank goodness for Backup Buddy!)
