Question

I am a new owner of a Visor Deluxe and I am looking for advise on the "Perfect Case". I am thinking about buying the FlipCase by Synergy Solutions. Check it out at: http://store.yahoo.com/pilotgear/synsol.html
Please help me with your personal experiences and/or comments. I don't want to buy several cases before I get the perfect one. Thanks.

Wanna learn about cases? Handspring stuff included?

All encompassing. Overwhelming. Bewildering. But you'll know what's what

Harry,

Did you get it yet? How does it work with the Visor. I have one that I use with my Palm IIIx and it works great but it seems that the velcro that attaches to the Visor will interfere with the SB module. It's also curious that the mfg, www.synsolutions.com does not have it listed as compatible for Visor. I wonder why the Yahoo! site does?

Hey Harry,

I am more confused now than ever! I saw where Rhinoskin has a Sportsuit and a Ti Slider for the Visor now. Let us know what you think of your FlipCase when you get it.

Unhappy

I got the flipcase today...and I think I'm gonna send it back. As was mentioned, the velcro used to attach the case to the Visor HAS to attach right where the SB module goes! Therefore, you can't use the case if you have any other SB's other than the one you initially attach the velcro to! Pretty inconvienent I think. Might do well with a Palm, but not for the Visor with SB's....It's a nice lookin case however.

Someone should get on PalmGear's case (sorry, no pun intended) and tell them to stop advertising that this case works with Visors, which it clearly doesn't!

I like the case with my Palm III and the manufacturer --Synergy Solutions-- does not make this claim about working with the Visor so they are not at fault.

Cool

I've been using the Shocksuit Sportcase by Rhinoskin and like it a lot. Easy to get to the Visor to use it and it just slides in and out the top to sit it on the dock. It fits in my front pocket easily and provides great protection.

Cool

Hey Harry, most of the cases that you get will come with the velcro attachment, I bought a sportsuit for my visor and had the same dillema, but I came up w/ an easy solution. I used the velcro stickies on my original Visor cover. since the cover attaches to either the front or the back of the visor w/ out a hitch, then I don't have a problem. It's easy to take out of the case too, and it will help w/ keeping the velcro attached. As for the problem w/ modules, there is always going to be a problem w/ modules and cases IF the module is larger than the area provided. So if you think about it, even then you'd have to remove your visor to use the oversized module.
Hope I could help...

Cool

I'm seriously considering the Rhodiana case. They said they'll have one for the Visor in a couple of weeks.

My priority is protecting the Visor from accidental drops, as the glass screen is rather fragile. The Rhodiana case is not only padded, but you can use the unit while it is still in the case.
It also has a back strap that you can insert your fingers into, so as to adhere the case to your hand. A useful feature for butter-fingers.

Read more about it here: http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/ubb/Fo...TML/000001.html

I have heard mixed reviews on the ShockSuit.
Some say it's Good, while others say it's terrible (which is probably just due to user opinion). Is the Rhino 1100 Better, or is the Shocksuit. I want one with EXCELLENT durability and protection, but I don't want to spend $100 for a Ti Slider. Does anyone have any other opinions on the Shocksuit?

Hey, Robert, I too was considering the Rhinoskin but I have decided to take my chances on the Rhodiana. If I don't like it, I can return it in 2 weeks. The lady said they started carrying them for the Visor last week. So you may wish to check it out. I too want something durable but I heard too many mixed reviews on the Rhinoskin. Mostly good ones however for the Rhodiana. Check out the reviews at the following site:http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/ubb/Forum50/HTML/000001.html
Good luck! I will try and post what I think on Sunday or Monday. It won't be sent out till tomorrow and I am in MI and it is in California so I don't expect it for 2 to 3 days. It is going priority mail.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned the Visor Slipper case from E&B but I for one am eagerly awaiting it. I have had great experiences from E&B cases regarding my Palm Professional. The Visor Slipper Case seems like a good balance between protection and convenience to me. If they could only start shipping it now... (I talk to their CSR and was told that they haven't started shipping yet)

BTW, the case can be seen here:

Gretz99 - let us know how it is... I'm thinking of getting one of those. They seem pretty cool on the website, but I don't really want to order one based on that alone (even though I did with my Visor

Talking

Well, I have finally decided on the Slipper Visor form E&B. It seems to have everything that I am looking for in a case except one thing......Immediate delivery. Apparently it won't start shipping until late January. Anyone looking for the perfect case needs to check this one out. I also talked to a CSR and she said that this case was designed just for the Visor. Most other cases will work but are not designed for the Visor. If anyone has ordered and received their case please post your comments.

I agree and just ordered one myself.

I thank you guys for pointing this one out to me. I have been reading and reading and searching all the messages and the web for a good case. I was going to get a palm III belt clip case but this looks MUCH better.

I got the one with the belt clip as it has the clip type I wanted. Will be nice I think. They don't mention if the infrared port is blocked but if it is I will cut out a hole for it

Now to wait I guess. The only other thing is I hope the front flap has some type of stiff plastic to protect the screen if bumped or maybe dropped.

When you guys get yours, let us know how it is.
