Thumbs up

I finally got my OtterBox in the mail from VisorCentral today (incidentally, I did my research, and when you get to the bottom line including shipping, tax, etc., VisorCentral is about the cheapest place to get them).

I wanted something to protect my Visor while it bounces around in the bag under my bike seat while on my way to work, but something that I wouldn't have to take my Visor out of it's EB Slipper to put into.

The OtterBox fit the bill perfectly! It fits just snugly side to side and front to back, with just a little slippy top to bottom. The box is a good bit thicker plastic than I was expecting, and seems stronger than I thought, too.

I don't know if James mentioned the lifetime guarantee in his review or not, but they say that if under "normal conditions" it fails to stay watertight, or if "it's structure should fail in any manner" they will replace it for free for my lifetime.

I'm very happy with a great product!

Thumbs up

I've had my OtterBox for about a month now and am very satisfied with it. I paid roughly $10 for it and it's such a fine case. It's not classy by anymeans, but it protects my Visor in my bookbag from pretty much anything short of a nuclear assault. I too, am very satisfied with my OtterBox. I plan on getting a Rhodiana Visor case this summer--hopefully my OtterBox will be able to accomodate it too (I'm pretty sure it will).

I discovered something else cool about my OtterBox over the weekend - it holds other things too!!!

I put my Nokia cell phone, some cash, and my keys in it, then dropped it in my softball bag while I played a double-header (didn't need my Visor for softball, so it stayed home). I was very comfortable knowing that my phone wouldn't get trashed by a foul-tipped ball smashing into it because it was fully protected!

Wink

Definitely! My OB2K is also perfect for mini-disk players. Those things are so small that the OB2K is the perfect exoskeleton for their protection.

FWIW, the Otterbox 3000 is an excellent protection case for the Stowaway folding keyboard, it and a couple of Springboards fit nicely in the OB 3000. Throw the works in a backpack without worrying about anything being damaged .

Will the Otterbox 2000 hold both a Visor AND the Stowaway keyboard? The inner dimensions on the Otterbox web site look like it's close, but I can't tell for sure. I'd hate to have the bulk of the 2500 if a 2000 would work.

OtterBox 2500? I've never heard of that before--is that new? Or do you mean the 3K. I use a 2K for my visor right now and I know it wouldn't fit in there. I'd say a separate OB2k for each would work pretty well though.

FWIW, be careful about that I.D. measurement on the Otterbox website, it lists the internal dimension of a Otterbox without the foam lining. If you have a solid color (non-clear) OB the foam lining takes up a small amount of space. The foam compresses quite a bit, but trying to fit a object or objects that is/are exactly the same size as the I.D. listed would probably not work as the compressed foam would still take up a tiny amout of internal space.

In regards to putting a Visor and Stowaway in the same OB 2000, it wouldn't work because my OB 3000 is bigger than the OB 2000, and both devices won't fit in simultaneously.

Vinny,

The x500 OB's are the same width and length dimensions as their x000 cousins, the only diff is their depth.

I use a 2500 for a digital camera and it's just right. I just tested it with my Stowaway and sadly the Stowaway is too wide. Perhaps someone out there with a 3000 could do a fit test, but my guess is the OB length might be a bit too much and induce internal sliding.

I don't know about the 2000, but an OtterBox 3000 will hold a Visor in a Rhodiana case with a clipconnector, with about 5cm of extra length. If the 2000 is less than 2" shorter than a 3000, it should fit.

Cool

so it'll fit. the length is much more than enough. the width is ok. what i was not sure before is the thickness, especially with the belt clip.
