What 3rd party software have you got installed? It could be a screwed up keyboard driver, hack, or something else of that nature...

When you install certain software the device will prompt you for a reset. Is that what is happening or are you getting a fatal error requiring a reset? Also, after a reset, PalmOS devices always go to the Preferences where you can set the time but you shouldn't have to reset it - it should remember.

I have the same problem with my Deluxe. And I did from the first hot sync with no apps or third party software installed. After each Hot Sync, I am prompted to tap to reset my visor, and it too takes me to the prefs page. I dont have to change any prefs, they are preserved. I just know with previous palm Os devices I didnt have to do this after each sync. its a minor annoyance since it doesn't hurt anything, but I know its not supposed to work that way. I am running 3.1H2. maybe the updater to 3.1H3 would make a difference?

I have not been able to install any other software, i am just syncing the pre-installed appilication. When i try to install other programs, The palm program says File not Found.

There is a troubleshooting tree for this on handspring.com

It goes a little like: soft reset, hard reset, start removing recently installed apps.

I had this problem a couple of times w/ different VDX units. I thought it was broken. It's software IMO. Start removing and you will finally finger the problem.

Desktop?

I had the same problem when I updated to the most recent versions of Palm Desktop from the Palm website. It hasn't been tested by Handspring yet and Handspring recommends you go back to the version on the CD that came with the Visor.

The problem I had was that the new verions of Desktop kept installing a Palm OS patch that wasn't compatable with the Visor. Everytime it installed that patch, it told the Visor to request a reset but the patch never took.

To see if this is your problem, go to conduit settings and turn off install. If it still requests a reset, I don't know what to tell you. If it doesn't, delete your desktop and install it again from the CD.

Hope it helps!
