I have a Palm IIIx, does that count? I'm upgrading next month, either the m505 or the Prism if they drop the price and add OS 4.0

Yaz is able to construct a coherent sentence, he clearly is not Shrub.

I have had a Visor Deluxe since the intro Oct 99. I was an original 6-weeker. In the olden' days, that's how long it would take us to get one. Mine's Orange.

Because I really knew how to drive a day runner, I knew I would use the visor 30-40x/day, and I do.
The Vdlx is the first hardware/software out of 1000's(it's my business) that has met AND exceeded my expectations. No problems EVER.
Except now, because I'm yearning to get a Vdlx w/color and I don't think there is one that works even as well as original Vdlx.

Prism- even larger/heavier, and battery life spooks me, I have often added 2AAA's at a crucial time to my visor.(BTW, Dlx lasts 30days per runtime app on heavy use)
And, you can't use Prism in sunlight. Geez, improve on Delux, why don't you?

I gave my husband a IIIc for the color/$$$. Boy does it suck!! Graffiti and bright screen are incompatible. Luckily, the newbie doesn't know it, and struggles along. I called Palm, said they never heard of the problem, even suggested I practice graffiti. Went to usegroups, they're all a buzz with rage about the 'well-known' graffiti digitizer problem of IIIc.
-Bad, Palm Inc., Bad-
So no Palm m505.....no palm anything...no support/no $$$$

I have been hearing rumours of COLOR edge...I'd like that. Even the add-on clunky adapter wouldn't bother me. I only use modem 1x/day when I travel, and backup mod, both only for a few minutes then put away again. Wouldn't need 8mb flash if it has rumoured 16mb.

Handspring, please make new COLOR edge as good as Deluxe and with features of clie'. ie screen indoor/outdoor 320x320, mp3 capability not important with Goodtimes module, but maybe use that speaker for text-to-speech capability for reading back of notes, letters, speeches.

And you were complaing about the battery life of the prism!! You could maybe get an hour of use with that if you left if off. If the deluxe suits your needs, stay with it. If you want to upgrade, go with a platinum.

I'm going to start a poll in "Off Topic". "Who did you vote for president in the last election?" I think I know what the results will come out as. . .

He would probobly have to get American. That means he would buy a Visor. Oh, man. Could you picture Bush posting on these boards? I think he would get the Edge. I'm not sure why, though.

He's get a Pocket PC, he needs to listen to his MP3s at work, and 8 mb isn't enough to store all his contacts. He needs the 64mb iPaq, just in case he wants to take a break and play a game.

What visor do I have?
Well, as of yesterday, I now have a prism.
But wait....

if you read my earlier post, you know that I have 'been around the world' with my Vdlx and could barely part with it. However the allure of color(and my birthday) finally got me.

But I still have the prism in the charger and my Vdlx with me. Why? because I used my back up mod and thought I could just pop it in the prism and go. Afterall, I have had it set up perfectly for 20months. But nooooooo! I think it has to do with the os upgrade(correct???) anyway, it crashed and crashed. So now, I think I have to reinstall all my apps from scratch. So I'm still using my Vdlx till I can assign the time.

If you have upgrade hints from Vdlx to Prism. "I'm all ears", I'll never forget when Ross Perot said that. Had to add that for the political factions among this usegroup.

And Hey, what's with that new launch screen. I have to click 'apps' to get past it. Complain, Complain, Complain.

MY VDLX was a dream out of the box. Yes, I need help. Prism Help. AAAAgh! I suppose I have to find all the reg codes again for docs2go, secret, hackmaster, etc. HELLLPP

ps. looked at the m505 in staples, the salesperson opened the box for me and turned it on. Next, he said, " do you know where the contrast button is?" I said, "Yeah, there is none. Could you please ring up a prism for me."

Hello All,

It's a great day in Prismville.
Yup, yup. When last you saw me, I was in deep consternation over the lack of easy upgrade from my beloved Vdlx to my new Prism. I was using the backup mod to restore, and the Prism kept crashing upon startup.
It took me a while, but I narrowed the problem down to the Launcher III program that I use. Apparently, it was an old (99') version that conflicted with palm os v3.5. But... I couldn't remove it because pressing 'on' would crash the prism.
On the net, I searched for an updated version and FOUND A LAUNCHER III DEACTIVER. This worked perfectly. I also installed the digitizer patch from Handspring. So the graffiti is 'good'(almost as great as Vdlx). Remember, the IIIc totally sucked at graffiti. It had to go.

So yes, yes, yes, the Prism is a definite upgrade from the Vdlx. It's also noticeably faster. I can't comment on the battery life yet. And because I travel, I will have to buy the optional travel charger, $35.

But yes, starting today, I am a 'Prismer of Love'
GIVE ME COLOR!!!!

Gina

Well, as you know, people who are stuck in black & white don't usually like "color people."
But we'll forgive you this time, due to your infectious enthusiasm.
Please do get back to us on the Prism's batt. life, as IMHO it remains one of the last dark mysteries of Visor lore...

Hey goofball, show some respect for you leader. That assmunch made that avatar up himself, Dubya is a lot better president then Al Gore...

Al gore would have raised taxes and caused a depression, Al's name goes hand in hand with DUMBASS.

God bless America. And thank God wackos don't become president.
