I'm trying to coordinate Outlook on my work computer, Outlook on my home computer and Visor. I want to sync the visor with the home computer, but take the data file on a disk to work and put it on my work computer that way about once a week.

Does anyone know where the outlook data is stored? What's the name of the file?

The file is usually called outlook.pst, but will certainly end with .pst

You need to be carefull when you try to "move it". If you literally copy it from one PC to another, it probably won't work.

The simplest way to move the contents of the file from one place to another is to copy the .pst to a temp directory on the other PC and then "import" the file into the existing .pst

BTW, the file tends to get very big, very fast. I doubt it will fit on a floppy. Mine won't fit on a zip drive.

My MS Outlook Express Address Book seems to be stored as c:\windows000\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book\userMPS.WAB

However, when trying to synchronize it with my Visor, the Palm Desktop is looking for an "*.aba" file.

Do you know how to synchronize the MS Outlook Express 5.0 Address Book with the Palm Desktop / Visor Address Book? (I do not.)

You may also want to think about just buying another cradle and syncing at work. That way you'll be able to make changes on your Outlook at work and have everything synced up, rather than simply overwriting the file every week.

If you don't want to buy another cradle you can also do it by using (here I go again) Yahoo and TrueSync. At home I use TrueSync to sync my Palm, Outlook and Yahoo accounts. Then at work, I can use it to sync Yahoo and Outlook. Everything stays perfectly in sync. Note that some people do have problems syncing to Yahoo through a firewall, but they have resolved many of those problems.

If you're going from Outlook Express to Palm Desktop, under the File menu click on Export and Address Book. Then it will ask you which fields you wish to export as a CSV file. select the ones you want to export (make sure there is a spot in the palm desktop for everything you choose!!) Once done, save the file. Then in Palm Desktop, select import and follow the directions. You may have to open the CSV file in excel to see what order Outlook Express has arranged the data in...if you follow the directions it shouldn't be much hassle.

Going the other way i think is even easier. Use the Export in Palm Desktop and Import in Outlook express and follow the directions!

Rearranging the order in Excel is as simple as dragging the columns to a new location.
But you really don't need to, the Palm import wizard will prompt you for the correct field mappings during the import.
