Battery shortcut won't work

I can not get the battery shortcut to work. In a new Memo, I write the shortcut symbol, tap twice (whichs adds a period), then enter a 7... and nothing happens.
I am using TapPad. Does this effect the execution of the shortcut?

Do you have a Prism?
I've noticed that this shortcut does not work on the Prism - which makes sense, since it has a Li-Ion factory installed rechargeable battery. Even the third party apps I've tried can't change it (not that I was going to keep it changed for long mind you - BUT, if there's a knob, I'll turn it

A couple of question for you:

1. Is this a new device that was restored from a different model (i.e. old device was a Visor DLX, new device is a Edge, and you used the backup module to move your data from old to new)?

2. Is a Prism or Edge?

3. Have you tried it in Memo instead of TapPad?

Answer these and we might be able to help....

Okay, answers one and two help narrow the problem down.

Bear with me, I've never used TapPad...

TapPad has a app/hack that you install, right? Can you disable TapPad temporarily so that you can do graffiti the normal way? If so, go into the memo app and using normal graffiti do the .7 and what info do you get in the memo?

That's what I figured. TapPad was the culprit! Glad it worked out for you
