Docking & Syncing

I am having trouble syncing with my computer. My Prism will set in the cradle and charge, but when I press the button the sync it, it will come up on the prism as "Connecting with the desktop...� Occasionally when I press down on the prism to better seat it into the cradle it will work or move it forward it will complete the sync. I am not sure what to do....
