Angry

My friend just bought a vdx, and cannot get the handheld recognized on a serial port. He is using w95 and a hp p233. Is the registry issue still active? and does it occur with a serial connection?

I don't think the registry issue affects the serial connection. Make sure that Local Serial is selected in HotSync manager and also verify the port settings under Setup.

Also, tap the HotSynch app on the Visor itself to see if the Local Synch or Modem Synch is highlighted. As MarkEagle said, you'll want Local selected.

Wink operator headspace

I had pointed these things out to my friend, and he claimed to have tried them. His brother-in-law took pity on him, went to his house and got it working. I think he didn't have the com port settings right. Now he wants me to help him unzip things.

Careful Out There Boys

Tim,

I'd be sure and clarify exactly what you'll be unzipping BEFORE heading over there.
