I've been having problems with my Visor Dlx hotsync cradle. sometimes when I put it in the cradle it causes my computer to reboot!

obviously this is annoying

Anyone have any ideas on what's causing it.

Just went through the same problem (see my post a little further down on this page...)

Anyway, here's what you do - Hotsync your visor first - then, uninstall the palm desktop software through the add/remove programs in control panel on your computer. Then, right click on the My Computer icon on your desktop, and click on the hardware tab. From there, click on hardware wizard, and go through the wizard to Uninstall a device - be sure to check the Show Hidden Devices box when you come to the list page - you'll see what I mean when you get there. Chose the "HAndspring USB" or anything that says "Handspring" on the list. COntinue to uninstall this device. Finally, unplug your cradle.

Then, go to the handspring web site and download the Palm Desktop with the patch for Win2K. Install it, plugging the cradle back in when prompted to do so (read the install windows carefully!)

This will fix your reboot problems. If you have questions, I'd be happy to forward you the e-mails I got from handspring tech support directly - They were EXTREMELY HELPFUL and offered excellent customer support...

Hope this helps!

glad you are back - I have forwarded the e-mail I received from handspring tech support to your e-mail in your profile. Let me know if you get it OK - if not, I'd be happy to post that message right here in the forum.

Don't forget to go to the handspring web site and download the new PalmDesktop software with the win2k patch - this whole process seems complicated, but trust me - it is a breeze and it really does fix the hotsync problem.

Let me know how everything turns out!
