Question

I've had no problems syncing with Outlook 2k until just this week (no problems for at least 6 months, syncing just about every weekday). Everything except Outlook's calendar will sync:

OK Expense
-- Outlook Calendar
Communication Failure (4006,80040107): The client operation failed.
Outlook Calendar synchronization failed
OK Outlook Contacts
OK Outlook Tasks
OK Outlook Notes
OK Pendragon Browser
OK System

Here's what I've tried:
- per Chapura's web site, closed Outlook and HS manager, repoened HS manager and then Outlook
- purged datebook+
- deleted one app that was installed earlier this week (space and spaceDB, one day before problem started)
- did a soft reset on Visor

In case it matters: NT SP4, serial sync.

Anyone have any other ideas? Thank you for any help.

I'm taking a stab here but if you have a local Outlook file (*.PST, Personal Folders) it could be that the Outlook file may be damaged. You'll need to compact the file.

However, if you are not using a local Outlook file (everything is stored on the server), I dunno what could be causing this-- it could be that the server's having hiccups.

Doh!

Now I feel like a moron. I forgot that sometimes when you shut down Outlook, the MAPI spooler doesn't shut down, and you have to use the TM to kill it. In this case, the spooler had halted, but outlook.exe was still running. Once I ended that and restarted Outlook, everything worked without problem.

Thanks for the suggestions, ProjectZero.
