At first I thoght that connecting with IR would not be the greatest but the Ericsson
and the Visor have their IR ports in the best spots so they can sit side by side. So
far I've been able to get it to work about 4 feet apart. I am very pleased.
There is not a cable connector that I am aware of to connect via cable to the
Visor....however the phone came with a Phone to serial connector (for laptops) so
maybe I can modify this.
So here are the Pros and Cons...
Pros....
1. Internet access right now for a great price!
2. I can use other springboards modules at the same time.
3. I already had a cell phone account and I haven't seen any other plans for
$30/unlimited.
Cons....
1. May be a little akward to use the phone and visor at the same time....but so far it
has been ok.
2. Only 9600 baud....but it is not too bad
Anyways.....I don't have to worry about waiting for the other guys to get their
modules ready.......

How is the battery life on the visor?
Right now, I don't even have a cell phone, but I'll keep it as an option.
Thanx for the info.

Happy Treo 600 user, so far. Thanx Cingular for having an unlocked phone.
My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.

battery life
Well I guess I will no more has time goes on but I guarantee that it uses less then a springboard that draws power from the Visor batteries. I have a thincom modem and my batteries last about 10 days when it is inserted in my Visor....even if I never use it!
The nice thing about the cell phone is that the battery is supposted to last 2 to 3 hours....and I can always get a spare battery or a car adapter.
I guess I neglected one more cost.....you have to have an isp.....I use earthlink for modems....so there is another $20.....I guess you could get it cheaper....
