I recently upgraded to a Prism from a IIIxe. The Prism has OS 3.5.2H, with the Handspring v1.2 updater (I thought 1.1 was the top, but my handheld shows version 1.2). My sluggard office PC is a Win95, so no USB for me (I don't know if it's technically possible or not, but I'm not gonna mess with it!). So I have a serial cradle. With the IIIxe, Palm OS 3.5 allowed serial hotsyncs up to 115,200 baud. Is there any way I can get my Prism to do a serial sync at that speed? I can set the desktop Hotsync manager to run at this speed, and it will sync with that setting - but it sure doesn't seem to be actually running at that speed. (I have a LOT of AvantGo files!) I notice that I can monkey with the handheld Hotsync icon and come up with something that seems to suggest I'm running at 115,200 - but I'm not at all a tech type, and I'm not sure what I'm doing. Any help would be appreciated. (Handspring tech support has been totally unhelpful and uninformative on this The people there apparently only have Visor Deluxes without OS 3.5.)

I believe that the Visors don't have the pins necessary for speed transfers higher than 9600.

9600? Maybe I'm comparing apples to oranges here. (I warned you I had no technical background!) I always thought that pre-OS 3.3 Palms hotsynced at 57,600 bps, and that OS 3.3 kicked that up to 115,200, which I thought was half the speed of USB.

The setup feature on the desktop Hotsync manager allows you to manually select speeds up to 115200, or "as fast as possible." If you monkey with it, the hotsync app on the Prism itself at least appears to allow you to select speeds up to 230,400 bps, which I assume means USB.
