Having been a member here for quite some time I have come to realize that there are MANY technologically inclined users registered.

If there is anyone who can figure out how to make an IRDA to parallel "hook-up" either as a pass through device (JetEYE Printer) or as a direct connection to a printer, I and just about everyone else here would gladly pay for one. The above-mentioned solution cost $160+. That is unreasonable. The parts are probably no more than $50 at Radioshack. If I am mistaken... please let me know.

I feel that there is a WIDEOPEN market for any entrepreneurs out there. They would be bought as fast as you could produce them.

Just my 2 cents.

I don't know if I'd want that kind of device. It only works with non-bi-directional printers. Almost any printer on the market except for the ones that you get for free use bi-directional. Heck, even some of the free printers use bi-directional. To make a device like this usable, you would have to allow for a passthru, making it very complicated. Just spend the extra money and get an IR printer from HP. If you get one of these your never going to have to get another printer again. My printer is a 4 plus, purchased in 92. That's eight years old!! , ancient in computers, but it works like a charm, beating many of the common day $500 printers.
