Can I transfer datebook contents from my old Visor Delux to a newer Prism? HOW?

First...I admit I am computer stupid.
Now...I have tried to use the Palm OS Desktop & HotSync Manager to transfer the contents of my DateBook over to my Visor Prism and cannot. I have tried Exporting, Importing, Beaming, and even tried to transfer out of Deluxe into Desktop folder THEN into Prism...I can't figure it out.
Is there a patient person out there who could help me with this?
Thank you!

I like your handle.

I believe the username on both handhelds needs to be the same to make it work, because Palm Desktop won't export to a different username. (I didn't doublecheck this, so anyone who dissents, please state!)

Try setting the conduits in HotSync manager to override the Visor, if you haven't already.

To get all of your current datebook info into the Prism, you could export the DateBook database from Palm Desktop (in the datebook for the old device's user name), then choose the user name for the Prism and go to the datebook for that name, then import the datebook archive into that datebook.

Run Palm Desktop, choose the old device's name in the upper right of the screen, then go to the DateBook. Go to File/Export, then export the datebook archive to a folder in your computer where you can find it. Now, in the upper right of the Palm Desktop screen, change the user name to the Prism's user name, make sure you're in the Datebook and then go to File/Import, then find the datebook archive you just exported and import it.

HotSync the Prism.

That would start the Prism off with the same datebook info as the older device, but it would NOT allow changes made on one device (or one user name's Palm Desktop equivalent) to show up in the other after a HotSync. Changes would have to be made manually.
