Has anyone got a suggestion on a screen protector? I have used the Fellowes WriteRight on the Visor Deluxe and have been pleased. When I used one of those on my new Prism the screen didn't look right. It had a dimpled, dotted effect on the Prism which I imagine to be the slight texture of the protectors. I want to be careful with this screen because I didn't purchase an extended warranty.

I haven't liked the degradation of the color. SO I made a compromise. Even though I use JOT, I put the write right protection JUST in the lower fourth of the screen--the input box next to the icons. Then, I take my chances everywhere else and try not to use it too much for data input.

So, here's a mind blower: There's a post over on Visor Village that's been going around today about someone who uses a very very very small drop of Olive Oil on their screen. They rub it all over the screen and then wipe it off with a soft cloth. They claim that after 1 year -- no scratches whatsoever - plus - lubrication for a smoother stylus ride.

I use the writeright screen protectors from fellows for the palm iiic on my prism. The color degredation is not that much BUT it is noticable. But if you touch your screen a lot (using your fingers like me) then get something to cover it up.

The prism comes with a very good stylus so scratches are a longshot. But just in case the protection is good.

Is that the same thread where someone is recommending a bit of wax on the screen? Claim is the screen is smoother and won't scratch either.

I use the Fellowes WriteRight protector with my prism. The one that I have is made for the Casio, Everex, philops, and Compaq. It is square like the prism and it fits great. There is no dimpled or dotted effect. I have tried other ones for the Palm and Visor, but this one is the best

screen protector

Would avoid writeright for IIIc for prism (which was recommended to me). I took it off after 1 day of use. Detracts from screen.

I'm using the Write Rights (for the IIIc) on my Prism. I've gotton used to the slight color issue. It's not that bad to me.

BUT, I have noticed that the sensitivity of the stylus on the screen is worse. I find myself "tapping" 2 or 3 times before I hear the click and it takes, having to tap harder each time. It's frustrating having to push so hard. The graffiti area seems to respond just fine. It's mostly when I'm in a program trying to tap a button.

I have tried the digitizer a few times and see no improvement.

Thanks for replying. I decided to try Tigger's suggestion and bought Writerights for the Casio, etc. I am fairly pleased with the results and don't find the slight change to the screen to be overly noticeable.

Does anyone know what types of liquids can be used to clean the Prism screen? (I did a search and found tons of threads but nearly all of them dealt either with actual protection or buffing out scratches.) I have noticed that there are some smudge marks on my screen, either from accidental finger contact or where dust has somehow settled onto the screen. A soft wipe with lens cloth isn't enough to get rid of them, and I'm afraid to press harder b/c I already created one scratch that way. It seems like I need to use some sort of liquid to wipe it off, but I don't know what?

Can I use something like rubbing alcohol and a q-tip or are there special solutions I can use? I would really appreciate any suggestions!

I use the same stuff i use to clean my glasses. I get it at lens crafter. they also have paper sheets that have no wood product in them. this works great. I know that most ppl would not want to buy somthing they would not use everyday so my guess would be soft cloth and a little bit of window cleaner.

Prism and Screen Protectors

I have found a new place that uses flexible thin plastic. It does not stick to the screen rather it fits between the screen and the case. It does not seem to interfer with the color or the screen like the other protectors do.It is suppose to last up to 3 to 4 months of hard use. Here is that address if anyone is interested:

Prism and screen proctectors

Hi,

The reason I do is because I am a person who can be very hard on things. Having the screen protector that I am using the nushield keeps me from wrecking my 400 dollar prism. Plus the nushield is not like the ones made by wright. They do not stick on nor do they take away from the screen plus you can take it out and clean it and put it back on the screen.

I'm pretty hard on my gadgets too... and my screen is perfectly okay!

I've had 3 palm pilots and I've never scratched one. Screen protectors are way way way over rated!

I use the WriteRight screen protector, but I cut them down and only use it over the main writing area. That's where I've developed scratches on my PDA's. I find this works pretty well and obviously doesn't interfere with the color screen on my Prism.

I have a new Prism and I do use the WrightRite screen protector to keep it from getting scratches since I carry it around a lot, but I do think that the moir� effect and the red and green diaganol stripes that the texture of the plastic causes kinda ruins the display. Maybe I'll take it off if I get sick of it.
