Exclamation hmmmmm...........

Take a look at this...

http://www.innotek.co.kr/english/index.asp

Looks like Innogear is releasing a new module called the trio but is it another company is launching it? The logo is the same as Innogear's...but no mention of Innogear...

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

If you look more carefully on the web site, especially this page, you'll see:

What I find most interesting is, that according to the description, it finally delivers on what they promised for the original MiniJam. That's assuming one can believe the description. Innogear's site still lists a flashing LED alarm as a feature on the original MiniJam. That feature has yet to appear, if I recall correctly.

hmmm indeed

I wonder if InnoGear sold their product lines? That seems to me the only way they would be able to have those products and not mention innogear - and their logo does look the same? Maybe they own this comapny too but why wouldnt they have this on their website also?

Where's the 128MB? It doesn't look like there is a slot for expansion, and the page talks so much about it being 64MB, that I doubt there are two version of the module, with different memory.

Weird. However, I'd love to get a good combined flash memory/voice recorder module. Don't need the MP3 player part, as I've already got a SoundsGood.

no - unbelivable. unbelivae able

innogear must be just a front. distributer - that's why THEY can't do anyhting abotu makign the new modules!
"2000. Feb. Start partnership with InnoGear Inc. in US
2000. Feb. Change company name into Innotek, Inc.
"
"2000. Sep. PDA Module Manufacturing Launching (Innopak/2V, MiniJam, etc.) "

What I get from this is either, they bought out innogear's dev stuff and all, and are the orignal makers of the minijam stuff.. wow. BIG NEWS
HUGE NEWS

I'm astonished

everythign herin contained - unless presented with qoutes, are the crazy ideas of miradu2000.

Thumbs down What are you talking about?

Where are you getting your information from? Seems to me as if you are just hoping for something...This is why I hate forums, so much BS on it. Get some facts, don't jump to conclusions and fill the forum with more BS. Call InnoGear, call InnoTek, see if they are the same company or not. As I see it, the InnoGear.com domain was purchased before InnoTek.co.kr, thus showing that InnoTek came after InnoGear. Get some facts before you talk, you state everything as if it is a FACT, when it certainly is not.

I aplogize for that comment(s). I thought it was clear that the qoutes were facts, and everything was MHO.. *sigh*

I am hoping for something - that innogear coems back - I liked them.

as for forum BS, it's up to you. I really like reading others speculation on things, and I find it very intresting. so..

Miradu2000,

No, Innogear was the original production company - they used to have an active presence on this board until community dissatisfaction with their unbelievable (and to date still unfulfilled) product announcements forced them to leave out of embarrassment.

Sixteen months ago, Innogear announced the impending release of Minijam with recorder (April 2000). They finally shipped the first one in Sep 2000 . . . minus the recording capability.

Don't even get us started about the Innopak (Swiss army knife of handspring modules). They touted this baby for 9 months before they finally crawled back in their hole in silence . . . with no product to deliver!

My theory is Innotek is Innogear's attempt to change their original name (image, reputation, record) for a clean start again since they failed so miserably on their first try.

I think that Innotek is the Korean website for Innogear. Looking a the original Url posted, it looks like it is meant to be an english translation of the real main page, which is in Korean... http://www.innotek.co.kr/start.htm

The copyright dates for the pages mimic Innogear's (2000). I would think that it's sort of like BMW of North America, compared to BMW GmbH (Germany). They are separate corporations, but under the same umbrella/entity. The "2000. Feb. Start partnership with InnoGear Inc. in US" may just be a formal announcement of their relationship.

Oh, the failed product was the Sixpak, not the Innopak (they actually released the Innopak).

For what it's worth, I understood what you were trying to say. It's true though. This is all very exciting. It would rock the party that rocks the party to hold 2 hours of music in your visor. I'd really love one except I can't bear to part with my eyemodule2. untill dual springboard visors are available(not likely, i suspect) i might as well superglue my eyemodule in the slot.

I just received my Volume 5 of the Handspring Add-On & Accessories Catalog (http://handspring.resourceguide.net). On page 6 is an ad for the MiniJam Trio.

Checking the resourceguide's web site, I found the following page:

Well, I've already bought and returned a MiniJam. Beyond anything else, there's one more claim InnoGear couldn't live up to that made me return the MiniJam -

Piss poor Mac support.

When the install CD, intended to carry full software suites for Mac and Windows, contains an EMPTY FOLDER where the Mac software should be...well, that's the last straw where I'm concerned. I was willing to overlook all the wild claims and product announcements that InnoGear made and try out the MiniJam for a song, but when I discovered my only software option was the MiniLoader, and that the transfer speed was absolutely dreadful, I packed it up and returned it to Staples.

But about this new module - in THEORY, InnoGear has done everything right - form factor, features, etc. But since there's nothing about this module ANYWHERE else on the web, who's to say this isn't vaporware too??? Just my $0.02.
