Hi,
I am in urgent need (for a presentation) of a serial cable for my handspring prism. Does anyone know if it is possible to dissasemble a serial cradle and a usb hot sych cable (for the connector) and reassemble them into a working serial cable?

Thanks-- AdM

Not exactly sure about that, but I have taken a serial cradle apart, held the connector up to my Prism and was able to hotsynch. I don't think that the circuitboard in the cradle portion will fit in a connector, but atleast you would be able to tape it on and keep it working... Not glamerous, but it'll work. I LOVE duct tape!

There ARE serial cables availabel from http://www.markspace.com and http://www.atlconnect.com and others...

Be sure you know the difference between DTE and DCE serial communication... you may need to use a null modem adapter to make it talk to your device... talk with their tech support

Hope this helps
