XP and IR Sync

I recently upgraded from Windows ME to XP Pro. I had been syncing with my Toshiba laptop via the IR port, but after the upgrade, I can no longer do so.

I have downloaded upgrades and reloaded the desktop. The only option available in the setup is Port 3, which is shared with my modem, also no other option available.

Any ideas?

You did not mention which upgrades you installed. I know that you need at lease Palm Desktop 4.x to IR Sync under 2000, and I am sure the same applies to XP. 2000 & XP no longer support a "Virtual Com Port" on IR. The new desktop software is supposed to bypass that.
