I was looking through an old issue of Pen Computing when I spotted Acer's prototype PDA, pre-Palm OS license.

It featured:

How much of this design do you think will stay? If they do indeed use the Memory Stick this will give Sony's format an even larger foot in the door and may make it a significant competitor to other standards.

Both of these provide a much better interface than the default Launcher, IMHO, for the simple reason that tapping once on a tab is faster and easier than tapping on a pop-up list and selecting an entry. Plus I can see all my categories all the time.

I say kudos to Acer for including this functionallity. Now let's just hope it's half as good as Launcher III is.

Just saw the pics. I just saw the pics of the new Acer at PalmINfocenter.com.

The thing is the worst looking PDA I have ever seen. It makes the design of the Handera looks very good. Store here: http://www.palminfocenter.com/view_...MODE=FLAT#14263

Doesn't look that bad...I still think the HandEra looks worst.

I don't want to spoil you guys. But I heard it will ONLY be sold in Asia and it will be a Chinese native Palm OS machine. It may have an English version for other countries in Asia. But I am afraid that's it. Palm won't allow it to be sold in US. At least that's what I know from these Chinese sites in Taiwan. I hope Acer can sell it in US. This will definitely drive everybody into a war. As a Taiwanese myself, I am really happy to see more products from Taiwan to the market and Taiwanese are really good at driving the price down, are we?
