Question

Is it possible? A friend has a visor platinum, and its no problem. I can't seem to figure out how to do it on the deluxe however.

you're in luck. this article was posted in December 2000. Follow the links to Oreilly. I got it to work, and it is great.

Lightbulb

Article is a little out of date I note. W2K hotsync through infra-red is possible for Visor, using Palm's latest hotsync update on palm site. Will need to reinstall USB (only) support back over the top in order to support both infra-red and USB.

Another possible alternative is to download Nokia 6xxx modem update for Win2000. You end up with a virtual infra-red COM port ala W9x style.

Just a note that the North American Nokia 6xxx phones do not have IR.

Clarification

Just to clarify that it doesn't matter whether you have a Nokia 6110 or not, and whether it has an infra-red port, or not, since all that is important here is the installation of the software intended for the Nokia 6xxxx series.

Installing this software, on your W2K laptop, gives your laptop a virtual COM port that allows you to link your laptop's infra-red to your visor's infra-red.
