I actually got it 2 weeks ago but I've just been transfering stuff from my faithful casio b.o.s.s onto it. I was wondering about the thinmodems. Is it worth saving the extra money to get the plus?

Get Thincom+

Yes get the thincom_. Then you can run your internet apps off it. The browsers and mail programs are fairly big.
