I _just_ got an Innogear/2V, put it in, activated its 'silent alarm', and copied a single database to it. Five minutes later, I'm sitting here typing away, when it goes off. And keeps going. There's no alarm active; I'm looking through all my programs.

This is disturbing.

Has anyone else seen this before?

I removed it from my Visor, of course; but putting it back in made it start up again, and also seems to have crashed my Visor.

Sometimes it's the database that you copied into the InnoPak that could be the problem. Try deleting what you have there (or move it back) and see.

Anyway, have you updated to the latest software for the 2V yet? If not, you can get it from: http://www.innogear.com/tech.htm
This is the second revision of the software and it is now in V1.2. Just install it (make sure you have all hacks disabled first), run it and then delete the application after it has been installed on the 2V. The new software fixes a few bugs as well as gives you the option to configure the number of seconds that the thing vibrates.

Another thing to note about the 2V's vibrating alarm - if you have any third party alarms like TrekSounds Hack or other alarm schemes, your 2V vibrator may not work reliably - disable them.

I noticed that certain applications and/or databases CANNOT be copied NOR moved into the 2V - most notably the driver for the Stowaway keyboard - it will crash your Visor as soon as it is there. Don't even think about copying it into the 2V.

Okay, a little update:

I talked to the Innogear people, and they seem to believe that I have one of their first units, which has a hardware bug. So I simply have to ship it in for an exchange.

I guess that's fine with me -- the only problem is that everyone I call tells me to call someone else. They don't seem to have to together too well, but at least they're taking the blame for the problem properly.

Yeah I emailed Innogear about my 2V too in the beginning and they said that I might have a bum unit and emailed that they would arrange for a replacement.

Unfortuntely, after that initial reply and the promise to forward my email to the relevant dept, I haven't heard a peep from Innogear.

Oh well. I'm used to being jerked around in my country anyway.

Besides, I think my problem was with copying the Stowaway driver into the 2V, so I just didn't bother emailing them back.
