Edge Discontinued!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone,
I just check their cite yesterday, and Handspring has finnaly discontinued the Edge. For a replacement, they reccomend the Treo 90. This is now the second handheld they have discontinued in the last few weeks. As everyone knows by now, the Prism was the first handheld that has been discontinued in the last few weeks. Is this a sign that something is happening in Handspring????

I used to be a "loyal" Handspring owner, never going to another company. In the next few months, instead of being a "loyal" Handspring owner, I will be a "loyal" Sony Clie owner.

Goodbye Handspring!!!!

Um...it's a sign that their new direction is all about the Treo. I thought that was well established by now.

NOT! Delux, Platinum, Prism and Edge. Strange, I used to see Deluxes infrequently 'on the street' when they were first introduced, but I have NEVER seen anyone with a Treo.

Most of us have defected to Sony and Handspring is a sinking ship. How can anyone be excited about a Treo?

So every Visor except the Neo and Pro dies. Looking at the Pro I'd just purchased earlier, really really nasty thoughts are going through my mind at the moment. I'm worried that looking at my Pro will give me bad thoughts so much that I eventually would get rid of it. And guess what? Not one dealers wants to sell a Springboard to me anymore. They say it'll be phased out, and they are concentrating on the Treos etc. etc. That MAKES ME MAD. I JUST WANT A BLOODY MEMPLUG.

NOBODY I know wants the Treo. Like it for its size, yes, but they sure don't WANT it. They mentioned about the tiny keypad and the lack of expansion. They all want the Edge, the Sonys, the PocketPCs... but not TREO 90. If the people around me don't want it, how does that reflect in the market?? Even if there's a market for it, it sure won't be anywhere close to Handspring's previous market base for sure.

I'm referring to the 90, btw. I know of a few who went for 270 & 180s. You know, the cellphone SMS crazed people. Helps send messages fast. These people barely care about getting organized... (well some do but most just want to type messages fast. At least people in my country anyway)

Oh what a great move, Handspring. Go buy the Treo 90, they say. And end up typing klkier tyjhiuds bnewcxsause the keypad is built for pixies.

Treo 180, 270, I can understand. But the _90_ . AARgh It's like Handspring just left us and closed the door without takign a second look.

On the other hand, the Sonys are looking better and better...


Wait - this is a good time for Apple to come out with an iNewton or something. hint, hint, HINT, gooddermit
