Hi all!

I am in need of a well padded belt case for my Visor. I don't want bulk, but I want medium protection - I realize the trade-off. I like the Rhodiana, but it sounds so snug, is there room to carry a spare set of batteries and my Panache stylus? Is there anything else out there which is compact, but protective? I have considered the EB belt case which sounds like a nice produc, but doesn't "look" protective enough for me, Rhino shock ("looks" too bulky), and the Handspring belt is no protection really, but I am open for opinions from actual owners of these products who feel differently. I looked at a leather Palm III case yesterday and my Visor didn't fit it.

I don't have one, but the Synergy Solutions Flip-Case with the button for the swivel belt clip looks interesting.

Anyone with feedback on it?

Currently using a homemade holster (from clear anodized aluminum sheet) with one of the swivel clips/buttons and I like the swift access it provides.

The Rhodiana case cannot carry extra batteries, but it does offer medium protection and the PDA Panache custom stylus is actually perfect for it (I mention this in the review that I wrote.

BTW: in addition to a few basic leather colors for the belt clip version, they also have some wild optical color versions (no belt clip for those unfortunately).

to reply to the original post, I use my leather belt clip case that my palmpilot used to be in (visor fits perfectly). It's a lot better than having it in your pocket, you can take it out faster, there's no bulge in your pocket, etc. It doesn't feel like any added "bulk", if anything it makes carring my visor around easier, I hardly notice it's there. it has both a clip and a belt loop, so it's really secure.

I asume you had to take off the Visors Platic cover to fit it in the palm case right? Does anyone know if this is true of the handspring belt clip?

I too have been wanting a belt clip case for my handspring and today I bought a plam III belt clip case, and my visor fits in it nicelly, but without the plastic cover..

Can anyone recommend a good belt clip for the Visor.

I have also been using my old Palm Pilot belt clip case for my Visor. I've yet to find anything new to take it's place. Very low profile, totally functional and protective, and yes, I even keep the Visor's removable plastic cover on and it fits in the case. The velcro fold-over flap doesn't cover as snuggly if the plastic cover is on, but it's a perfectly acceptable and secure fit nonetheless.

Actually, the Handspring belt clip case provides plenty of protection unless you're going to be mountain climbing . The only thing is the "clip" part sucks. I broke mine a few days after I got it. It popped off while I was getting out of the car. I managed to reattach it but after inspecting how it works it was sorta cheesy. So, I modified mine some and now have a much better solution.

<LI>First, I purchased a "belkin" belt clip from Office Depot ($6).
<LI>Then after removing the existing clip (fairly easy, just pop it off) I took a utility knife and cut off the small plastic loops that hold the original clip in place.
<LI>Then, using the knife, I shaved off any excess plastic to smooth out the surface.
<LI>I removed the "adhesive" tape from the tab that slides into the clip (didn't trust it to hold) and scratched up the back of it.
<LI>Then used some epoxy to attach it to the back of the holster just beneath the two holes at the top. (See pictures)

Whalla, works great! It hasn't fallen out because the clip allows it to rotate freely while I'm sitting or standing and in-between.

Despite what some might think from the pictures here or on Handspring's site the holtser isn't flexible and provides plenty of protection for the Visor, as much or more than the cover which doesn't fit in the holster. The holster holds the Visor pretty snug and it has never "popped" out accidentally. The best part of the holster is the cut-away area that leaves plenty of room for springboards to stay attached the the Visor while in the holster.

I agree... the HS belt-clip case is a nice idea but a very poor design for the clip. I, too, will be removing it in favor of a button/clip arrangement a la cell phone.

I really like the fact that it fully protects the screen AND still allows for modules that are larger than the Springboard slot.

For padded protection, I've ordered an E&B slipper... still waiting for it to show up, though.

Hey,

I've got the Rhinoskin Shock Suit case with the belt clip. I'm not pleased with it and am sending it back. You may like it though...

My issues are:

1. The IR port is blocked.
2. You have to pull it out of the case to fit in the hotsync cradle.
3. I don't like the case material.

It does seem like good protection, however.

I have an EB leather flip case that I'm extremely pleased with. the flip part cover the screen and fastens down with velcro, so I feel that it offers very good protection. Also, I ordered the belt clip version, which has the free-moving, quickly attachable belt clip. It fits tighty into the case and leaves all the buttons and beam window clear and accessible. It will hotsynch while in the case, but I have to hold it down on the cradle to get good contact, but that's the only drawback I've found so far. On top of all that, it looks very sharp! I highly recommend it.
