Question upgrade calculator on Visor using Palm OS 3.0.1 Calculator 3.0H

My husband's Visor, purchased a few years ago, has a very basic calculator. My Edge has an advanced calculator. I can't find a way to bean the calculator to his Visor. Can I do this or is there a download available?

No, you cannot beam him your calculator, as it is built into ROM. The Advanced Calculator found on the Visors is available Retail.

The retail Calculator is even more feature rich than the one on the Visor's and it can be found here:

Parens

I love it. One of the things I really missed about my Prism and Deluxe.

Are you sure your husband's Visor doesn't have the advanced calculator? I thought all visor's did - I know mine purchased in October(?) of '99 did. Try this: go into his calculator, hit the menu silkscreen icon and hit Change Mode (or something like that, I'm working from memory). You should get an option to switch from basic to advanced mode.

If I'm wrong and he really doesn't have the advanced calculator, you could beam him yours by using an app called pz. It's kinda like Winzip. You'd zip up your calc and beam him pz and the zipped calc, then he could unzip it. I've tried it, it works. I'm not sure if it's legal though.

This is probably the answer, but if not...

Easier than:

  • zip
  • beam pz
  • beam calczip
  • unzip
with pz is: BeamWare It will beam apps, even those in ROM, and the person receiving it doesn't need to have BeamWare!

Strictly speaking though, Jupe has a point about the (il)legality of transfering it.

Menu / Options / Change Mode... / Advanced.

Sorry, I missed the part about your Husbands PDA being a Visor. I just assumed it was a Palm.

I also thought all Visor models came with the Advanced Calculator, so try switching modes as others have said.

Sorry.
