Thumbs down Edge will not sync on USB

My new edge will not sync on USB. Syncs fine on serial port at my office.
However at home it will not sync. When I plug it in , I get a box stationg that New Hardware has been found and it (drivers I assume) will be installed. How ever it stops dead in it's tracks and I get a lost connection message. I have a USB hub and I have tried plugging the cradle in to the hub and also directly into the computer. I am using win98SE. My attempted upgrade to XP was a total disaster. But thats another story since I had to format my hard drive and reinstall all my applications. I have tried a soft reset, reinstalling desktop 4.0.1.
Nothing helps.
HELP
Thanks
dabirk

I'm having the same issue with a Dlx ... see my post here.

It works with a serial connection, but not the USB. I just upgraded to the lastest version of the desktop software also.

Have you tried removing the USB ports using Device Manager? Try that, disconnect your cradle, and then reboot the machine. When it restarts, it should redetect the USB ports and reinstall their drivers. If that works, try connecting the cradle and see what happens.
