Question Movian VPN and Mocha TN3270 problems

I am trying to hook up my Sony Clie N610 to corporate VPN gateway. I connect via cable to external modem to my ISP just fine. I then start up the MovianVPN software and logon successfully to a Cisco 3000 gateway. Then I start up the Mocha TN3270 software and I get a valid terminal session. After this, my Clie freezes and has to be soft reset. Sometimes I can get as far as logging on but it locks up pretty soon afterwards.

Has anyone run into this?

Movian does not provide support unless you buy the software which I am not going to buy if it keeps locking up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well it seems like I found an answer. If I change my connection to 19,200bps it seems to work ok. I would like to run this at 56000 if anyone has any further info please let me know.

Hi olendorf,

You say you connect to your ISP then start movianVPN to log on to your gateway. Have you tried getting movian to connect and logon for you - I've found that doing it this way avoids system resets...

Also, make sure your batteries are well charged - low batteries mean more resets for me.

FYI here's my setup...

In Connection Prefs, I've changed the default movianVPN configuration so that the speed is 57600 and made sure this is the connection that is highlighted

In Network Prefs I modified my ISP by selecting current from the connection options and again made sure this option was the currently selected service.

Each time I want to connect, I open movianVPN and click logon. the app then dials the network service, then logs on in one sequence.

Yes, that's how I do it now. I just click LOGON in the MovianVPN screen and it dials and logs on from there. I am thinking maybe I have flow control problems or something like that. I just can't run above 19,200. I'll have to play with modem setup strings.
