I ordered mine on 9/23 at about 1PM CST. Monday night I called my credit card company and found that there was a charge pending for $277. As of Tuesday at 9PM, the charge hasn't cleared, but it's still pending. I'm pretty sure it's HS, since I haven't used that CC since I placed my order.

Here's the kicker: When I called last week to confirm my order, I asked if I could add a pack of deluxe styli to it. The CSR said probably not, since it was due to go out "in the next shipment". She took the order anyway, after making sure I knew it would be 4 to 6 weeks before I got the styli. Now I see a pending charge for $277. If the VD is $250 and shipping is about $7, that leaves $20 unaccounted for. Does anyone remember how much the rainbow pack of styli costs? I have a feeling that CSR might have shoehorned my styli in at the last moment...

Well if you live in CA, that extra $20 could be for sales tax.

You'll still probably get charged sales tax because I believe CA and TX have a sales tax revenue sharing agreement because my credit card was charged 276.40, close to your $277 authorization. CA has done a good job of capturing sales tax of late regarding orders going out.....

I too am in Texas, and I have a $275.25 charge pending on my card. Not only is this odd in light of being ~$20 excessive, but it is different than Briareos amount. It'll be interesting to see the actual charged amount.

It seems we may be victims of the previously posted issue of the $20 overcharge.

What the heck is a revenue sharing agreement? I have ordered lots of stuff from CA, and never has sales tax been a part of the equation.

unfortunately if you look all around the discussion board you will see that a lot of people are getting $20 over charges!!
