Unhappy

Hello-

I've been trying to get my new Visor Deluxe to synch with my Outlook Express for several days now with no success. I am running OS 9.0.4, Outlook Express 5.02, and I have downloaded the MultiMail Pro 3.1 Demo to install the v.1.23 Demo Conduit. I have downloaded the most recent Palm Desktop and HotSync software from Handspring.

I found this previous post that is IDENTICAL to my problem:

"As soon as I start hotsyncing, i get an icon flashing in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Its an applescript icon."

I have tried the following fix associated with this post to no avail:

"I know how to fix this.. It has happened to me too. First, go to the application menu where it's flashing. Select the problem app which is really applescript. It just needs to know where outlook express or whatever email client you selected is. once you select it, it will either continue or stop and the next time you synch it should work.. "

Has anyone successfully corrected this problem by another means than the one above? Once I applied this fix, I developed a new problem - I get an error message window that tells me:

"Can't make some data into the expected type."

It offers an "Edit" and "OK" button.

Could the problem be that I'm using the demo and not the full version? What's the limitation of the demo, i.e., what's the incentive to pay $29.95 for the full version of the conduit.

I apologize for the barrage of questions. I'm exceedingly frustrated and want a solution, but don't know if throwing money at the problem (purchasing the conduit) will solve the problem.

Any advice/solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Talking

i too had a nasty oe5/mm problem. you might try to reinstall mm... that ended up fixing the problem for me.

also, actualsoft (the makers of mm) have a great support team: [email protected] i was having no luck with my own fixes, and finaly emailed them, and the tech i started a correspondence with was great... he saw me through to the end of the problem (we sent 6 or 7 emails back and forth.) he finally sent me a clean copy of mm and installed from there. somewher ealong the line mine had gotten corrupted - including the original .sit file i installed the first time!

also, from what i understand, the demo truncates your mail, so i don't think it's a good long term solution. if mail on your visor is important to you, i would lay out the 30 bucks. it might be a good way to fix the sync problem, too, tho' i'm not sure.

hope it helps.
