I've held off buying the Handspring 8MB expansion module for my VDX hoping that a CF module would appear that offered the same seamless integration with system memory that you get with the Handspring unit. Innopocket and the FAFileMover app are not there yet, but seem to be getting closer. Since the module itself hosts no software, I assume there is no reason to believe that when the new app is developed I would be able to upgrade software, and not need a second generation module. True?

That said, my thinking is that the best price point for CF memory for typical handheld needs is 16MB, which can be had on Ebay for $25 - $35. Combined with the $40 InnoPocket module, its a hell of a better deal than the Handspring 8MB unit...or am I missing something?

It depends on what you want to do. If you want to run apps from the module, then you need a flash module. If you don't mind moving files from the CF module to your visor before using them, then a storage device like CF, etc is your answer. I don't know if/when/or if its possible to runs apps from a storage solution module from only a software upgrade or new program.

Hope it helps.

Thumbs up You're right about the price

Keefer,

You're right about the price point though. Even better if you have a couple of CF cards laying around the house from digicams or the like. I ordered one today and I plan to use it to keep textbooks, ebooks, picture files of my kid and maps from mapopolis.com. Personally, I can't wait for a 32 MB VIsor. Memory is relatively cheap.

Question Question

Is the InnoPocket Module black or clear? I see in an article a few days back that the module is clear, but they show it has black on their web site. I am a bit confused. I would prefer it was/is clear.
