Silver Screen... good or bad?

I've been trying to find a GUI that works better than the basic PalmOS interface. Silver Screen seems to have some sweet features, but I want a second (or third, or fourth) opinion.

Let me know what you think!

I guess it depends on what you want out of your launcher. I use SilverScreen and I like it better than anything else out there. I think it looks fantastic and I find it to be very functional. Some people think it's mostly pretty versus practical or useful. I have tried a demo of most of the other launchers available and I prefer SilverScreen by far.

Silver Screen

I would echo Mokoni's comments. I've at least loaded and looked at any number of launchers and have settled on SS.

There certainly was a time when it was more show than go, but with a 'tabbed' interface now, it has everything I want in a launcher.

There are times when I suspect it slows the VDX down *just a bit*, but that may well be my imagination.

Ok, so I'm the first to post an adverse opinion. Silverscreen is nice and pretty, but INCREDIBLY SLOW compared to other launchers. I use MegaLauncher3 VIP. It zips compared to SS. I loved being able to change themes on SS but it made me mad waiting for it. There seems to be an option in MegaL 3 to change themes but Megasoft hasn't provided any on their site yet.

Of course, if you're the patient type and you don't have a ton of stuff on you PDA, then you might like to stick with SS.

Just my 2 cents.

Silverscreen is slow slow slow slow.

Even Megalauncher is slow, and mostly eyecandy as well, IMO.

The fastest out there is Launcher III. tabbed interface AND drag n drop options all available on one screen with no switching around.

She ain't the prettiest girl on the block, but she's the smartest & she puts out the most...

Launcher III v3.0

I just upgraded to Launcher III v3.0 'cause of it's support for CF cards. It's fast and easy, which is all I want. IMO, Silver Screen is a little bit too much for a PDA.

I must correct my previous post. Megasoft now has the themes available for ML3 VIP. They're not quite as lovely as SS but they're still nice in a proffesional kind of way.

I can't vouch for the speed of ML3 with expansion memory because I don't own any of those (wistfully wishing).
