Seoul is out of range...by the time this thing gets into international civilian flight territory (near 55,000 feet), it should be about 3-4 seconds from splash down. Remeber, this thing is free-falling at an unbelievable pace...it will slow down slightly, but heck, it is re-entering at close to 18,000 miles per hour...that's 5 miles per second...26,400 feet per second. Which means, if it did not slow down, it could cover the altitude of a normal trans-Pacific flight in roughly 2 seconds...but like I said, with slow down, probably closer to 3-4 seconds.

Of course, this is straight forward math...also remember, the Mir flight path will be swatched in 3-D...so that the airlines can have an estimate as well. Also remember that from the U.S. to Korea, they normally fly a route that goes slightly toward the North Pole, because it is in fact a shorter distance around the globe.

But again...this is just my take on it...and I'm sure it will do nothing to help you calm down.

Well, we don't know if we get tacos or not. Until Mir actually misses that target, I expect to get one!

I think they should make it more interesting and put that little dog on the target, too.

Do you think anyone will get this on tape? People seem to get everything else on tape... I'd love to see the impact .

Taco bell made a promotion, that IF te core of MIR hit a 144? Sq ft target, abotu 12 miles off the coast of Austrialia, than everybody in the US would get a Free Taco. IF IT DID HAPPEN IT would cost them about $10 Million. Luckly, they were insured aganst it happening

/me want free taco though....
