Hey, kiddies!
Anyone out there hot on this Cue Radio module? One-way text paging plus internet clipping (?) and email sounds pretty cool, but I don't know if I wanna shell out $150 for a radio/pager.
What do you'uns think?

$150???? I think I'll wait for myradio to come out with their radio springboard. $150 seems alittle steep. Although myradio has been pushed back to 4th qtr., I do believe it will be cheaper. Of course it will lack the paging capabilities but that's fine for me. I just want a radio springboard.

what do you need a radio springboard for? what a waste of money. you can get a seperate radio for a lot cheaper than any springboard radio is going to cost, and as far as i can see, there is no benefit to having the radio built into your visor. just takes up a slot

It's more the pager that people are looking for, but I agree. That's an afwully expensive pager. As a highshool student, I have seen alot of pagers, and the most popular ones are the motorola ones that store 40 messages (numeric, sorry I can't be more descriptive). The reason that these pagers are so popular is because they cost less that a book. If you lose it then it is easily replaced. I think that the CUE radio has gone for the wrong market. Most of the people who have Visors have cell phones (or atleast that's what I've read, I have a BAM 330D). We look for the better product upfront, and get rewarded later by the benefits.

Benefits include: Only carrying One device which is a major selling point of springboards in general. Another major benefit also happens to be...the MUSIC.

I, too, was really interrested in the Cue radio when I first heared about it. Now I'm not so sure. At $150 it just might be too much. I do like the idea of having local traffic updates, news, and paging. I think I will wait a while and see if the price comes down a bit. Still a cool idea, but when you can buy a FM radio about the size of a matchbook for $15, it's still too much for the bucks.

You can get that on the 40 motorola pager, and the service is less probably too.
