Yes, Mediam, the WAAS capability is a hardware fix, the best I can tell, I have one and it is REALLY accurate, I get fixes within 5.4ft at the lake, but it's also a Garmin unit, more expensive, but a way better interface, better support and better maps, just my own personal 2cents...
