I recently downloaded and installed BackupAll, and it synced once, but now when i sync, the desktop window says "syncing sync.avantgo.com" or seomthing, but the visor says "Snchronizing MBInProfile" and it just hangs and hangs and hangs. When i abort and resync, but DISABLING the Mobile Link, it works fine. Now, i use avantgo and Vindigo (re: MAL) so i checked both, but can't find anything wrong. it worked before i downloaded Backupall......

I tried deleting the Backupall but nothing changed. any ideas?

MBinProfile is information on your visor that is sent back to avantgo and vindigo. For example, in Vindigo, when you set your location or you fill out a restaurant review it stores that info and sends it back to the Vindigo server. I also read somewhere that said it counts which 'pages' you viewed and how often so that they can present a report to restaurants, stores, etc. saying that their information was viewed this many times on handhelds. Some don't like the concept of sending back info, personally i think without statistical gathering we'd all be forced to buy bright pink cadillacs and wearing shoes that are way to narrow for our feet.

Try clearing the channels in avantgo (channel manager) or under the options menu item, select "Server Preferences" and click on the box that says "Refresh All Content"
Then sync again. It should work.

As far as reseting Vindigo...don't know.

Also, you can open the Mobile Link application on the desktop (it should be in the AvantGo folder) and check to see that there is only one "server setting" currently active for AvantGo. I had a case a while back where there were 2, then 3, identical servers listed and each one caused AvantGo to sync (2 and 3 times). I would also get an occasional "hang" but after deleting the duplicates, everything was fine and has been ever since (I still don't know how the duplicates got there in the first place).

I get into that situation when I forget to enable the proxy server address when I'm connected to the corporate network. You probably need to test the connection first.

1. Go to Start--> Programs --> Avantgo --> Mobile Link
2. click the Connections tab
3. click on the Autodetect button.

If detection is successful, you should have no problems in syncing.

If ever its still not syncing after a successful autodetection, throw that %$#*&^@ thing out the window.
