Question

My wife and I each have a visor. She uses the Palm Software I use Outlook 2000.She synchs with our desktop at home. I use my laptop at work.I tried to synch on our desktop at home and it did not work, I got e-mail error msgs, and nothing synched. Is there a secret to having multiple users on one computer who use different software. Can I sync my info(outlook 2000) to show up in outlook 2000 on our desktop at home?

Talking

We do that at home!

I sync with the Palm Desktop, my girlfriend uses outlook 97(?). At work i sync to palm desktop and at her work she syncs with outlook again. To accomplish this at home, you need to first of all be running win 98 (which i'm going to assume you are).

In the control panel, click on Users and set up 2 users (you, we'll call you "A" and her, "B")
reboot the computer and log in as A.
Once you've logged on, set up your desktop any way you want (as only you will see it this way) and load up PocketMirror (because you want Outlook2000) and set up your visor.

Once you're done, do a reboot, log in as A again and test to see that everything is the way you want it.

Then reboot and log in as B.
Set up the desktop the way she wants it and then install Palm desktop and set everything up the way she wants it.

From now on, when you want to sync, you'll log in as A and when she wants to sync she'll log in as B. You don't need to reboot everytime you want to switch as there will be an option in the Start Menu that allows you to 'log off as ..." and then you can log in as ...

IT's like having 2 computers!

Oh ya, before you do any of this, i recommend syncing your visors and then uninstalling any palm desktop, pocket mirror software so you're starting from scratch when you're installing the necessary software for each user.

It works for us and there haven't been any problems since November!

If you have any problems, feel free to email or post!
