In the webcast, Hawkins said 3.5.2H was 4.0 due to the added support for USB, etc. I'm not sure I fully agree with that statement, but if it's even partially true, that would make FlashROM unnecessary, IMHO.

As for a color Edge, could it be done in the same physical casing as the mono unit? The Prism is substantially larger than the VDx and VPL. If they could make a color Edge in the same form-factor, I might just be first in line for it.

I'd be happy with a color screen Visor in Platinum size.

I also own a Philips Pronto LCD remote control. Many users have discovered they can replace the screen themselves, and in fact use a slightly better screen than the original one. I'd LOVE to be able to simply swap out my Platinum's gray scale screen with a color version of the same size. If the display controlling chips are on the screen instead of on the Prism's motherboard, then it "might" be as simple as changing the monitor on your PC.

Thumbs up

I'd be thrilled with a color Edge in Platinum size with an onboard Springboard slot.

I've opened up my prism, and most of the space in there is for the SB slot and for the rechargable battery. The color screen itself doesn't add much extra sized to the unit at all. The Edge already has the recharagble battery and SB slot taken care of, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Color edge anytime soon.

I think the Visor Platinum can be shrunk incredibly by changing the case to an ulta-thin & durable metal, because the springboard could be moved a few mm closer to the screen, and the whole unit would be ALOT smaller... just my $0.02. I would like that more than the Edge, since I actually USE the slot. Then if THAT was in color...

On a side note,

I think the Edge is just a Platinum cut down the middle with a table-saw. Give me your Platinums, and I will only charge a $200 processing fee.

Give me a color Edge, and I'm all over it.
