Hello!

I have several questions:

1) Is there a way to speed up USB hotsyncs on my Visor DLX? I find it is extremely slow backing up [small amounts of data] and installing (I now use InstallBuddy, it's much quicker)

Is there a hack or application for the palm/computer that can do this? InstallBuddy works like a charm -- but only for installing ONTO the Visor.

2) PalmVNC/Any other software like that. I downloaded a hack that can redirect anything to the USB port, but how do I get my computer to respond to the signals it is getting? It would be nice to be able to get my e-mail without having to sync, or get updated AvantGo pages, or...?

3) A comment, more than a question. I have found that Pure Energy alkaline batteries work best. They are rechargeable, have no memory, the more you recharge them the longer they last, etc. Great! I like the recharging ability because I run through about a set a day! (constant acceleration and use. It's nice to have a 32mhz EZ cpu, eh?)

Options

Check out Backup Buddy for backups. After an initial Hot Sync it only backs up changed databases. This may or may not provide you with a speed boost.

If you click on the Hot Sync manager icon in your system tray then select Custom, you can disable temporarly any or all conduits you want. Then you could sync only your e-mail.

I have been using Pure Energy batteries for the last two years, I have never had a leak and have never destroyed a set. I've lost count of the number of times I charge them - I recharge them when they're half empty, a good idea with these as they say it will extend their life greatly.
