Question

I have had many failures while using Avantgo: no matter how many or how few channels I have configured, eventually I receive a message, after hot syncing, that no channels have been selected. No matter what I do then, this message persists and none of my chosen channels are displayed on the Visor - only that message. When I go into my account on Avantgo, they are all chosen and seem to be correct. The only way to correct the problem (that I have found) is to uninstall and reinstall the whole setup. I have now removed Avantgo from my Visor (Platinum) but I miss it.

If anyone has any suggestions to correct this, I would be very grateful. I cannot connect this to any changes in installed software or other causes - it seems to happen spontaneously. (I also sync to Vindigo, with no apparent problems.)

Thank you all in advance!

Linda

Unhappy

Avantgo regularly fails for me too. It gets as far as "updating device configuration" which it does, then waits for ages and finally says cannot connect to server. After enough tries (5+) I can usually eventually get it to work and most of the pages download but it's a bit of a pain.

I used to use Vindigo and AvantGo, and encountered similar problems. I ultimately deleted Vindigo (no loss - I don't live the Vindigo lifestyle!) and reinstalled AvantGo, and now have no problems. Someone told me that you might be able to solve the problem and use both by reinstalling AvantGo after you have installed Vindigo.

Thumbs up

Thanks to you both! I have cleaned out all old Avantgo files and also Vindigo, at least for now and set up a new Avantgo account. Also, it occurs to me that I have been hot syncing to 2 different portables; I think I will use only one for a while, to see if this also helps and then add one thing back at a time. Maybe I can pinpoint the culprit...

I'll report back...

L.
