Ok, so, I was bored last night and decided to spend some of my tax refund. I went over to CompUSA and was looking at the Sounds Good MP3 player. Well, to my happy surprise CUSA was having a "price break" on the SG Player, their cost was 249.98, then there was a 20.00 rebate from the manufacturer, bring the cost down to 229.98, which I thought was a pretty good price for 64MB. So I ran home, excited to get started.
Now before we get to the review, I don't know if this was just a local (Arlington, VA) CUSA price break, and I don't know how long it will go on. If you are thinking about getting one, now would probably be the time.

The Review: I got home, ripped the package open, threw the Set-Up CD in the computer and set up the program. I did not load the MusicMatch software, I loaded only the esstials. After the instalation (4 minutes) and looking for songs on my hard drive, I selected the songs I wanted and in 4.37 it loaded an hour's worth of music. I did have one problem with a track that provided me with a fatal error, but other than that it was pain-free. I was dancing around the apartment in less than 10 minutes. It is a completely idiot proof system. I am totally satisfied, I am only bummed that I can't get the energy clip (backordered thru Amazon)for two weeks. The sound is really good (even with the provided headphones), I know some people said the provided ear phones sucked but they sounded great to me. The clarity of the songs was better than on my Rio 500 MP3 player. All things considered I give a big thumbs up. I highly recommend. By the way, I work for the Gogvernment and am not affiliated in any way with anything even close to the manufacturer or HS.

I was wondering if the soundsgood can accept music off a cd or does it include software to convert cd to mp3? I'm kind of dumb when it comes to computer stuff?

The MusicMatch software that comes with the Sounds Good allows you to rip music from CD's and convert them into MP3's(actually that's about all it does).

I have the Sounds Good and I love it...

Sounds Good MP3 Player

I just received the SoundsGood Eneryg Clip.

What a very cool item. I ordered it through CompUSA, I tried Amazon but it was super back ordered.
This item really completes the package.

How do you load the MP3s? I thought the Music Match software was required for the loading process.

Loading MP3s

No you don't have to use the Music Match software, you can use any software you would like.

I use the software that came with my Rio 500. Ilike that because I can change the kbs on each mp3.

I will try to explain this, although I am not sure of the exact definitions.

Most MP3s are 128kbs, which is CD quality sound. As the kbs decreases so does the sound quality, all the way down to AM radio quality. I usually rip songs from my CDs to MP3 format at 96kbs. I sacrifice a little sound quality,not really a great deal for added music. If you rip at 128, you can get about an hour on 64MB. Ripping at 96, I can get about an hour and a half (or so).

I decided that since I knew what I was doing with the RIO software, I did not want to try use the software that same with the Sounds Good.

I know that is a really big answer for a simple questions, but I felt I should, spell it all out for others reading.

You can move music to the SoundsGood Springboard from their Good Desktop PC program. To get the songs into their program I've used Windoze Explorer, My Computer folders (drag from folder and drop in good desktop) and both MusicMatch and WinAmp playlists. It bombs with WinAmp playlists though if you try reordering the play order before hitting the Move It button. Rio method sounds cool too. They have a window that shows all the MP3 songs on your computer to drag and drop too.
