haha! im sooo 1337!

i wanted to install a white led inside my new neo. and even though id opened my old vdx millions of times before, i manage to break the smt ribbon cable connector for the screen.

in case you havnt seen the part im talking about, it s a little connector about 1 cm wide, with 20 little pin in that same space.

took me about 10 hours of work... in a dingy room, without a manifying glass, and with somewhat blunted soldering iron tip, but i fixed it!

unfortunately, i cant take any pics, because my only digicam is my eyemodule.

next on the mod list:

-install a circuit to dim or shut off the led when the keyboard is conected (both are powered by the serial port. so when i plug my keyboard in, the led lights up. and its very very bright)
- convert to rechargable batteries that recharge in the cradle.
- make a new graffiti area silkscreen, and backlight it with some el sheet i scrounged
-new larger speaker (amplified?)

the neo seems to have alot more extra space in it that the vdx did. all the better for mods!
