Question

Since I know many of you are Palm vets, I figure I can get an answer here.
My Visor won't be here for awhile so in the meantime I'm downloading all the interesting 3rd party apps I can find. Seems as though I need a few core apps that I couldn't find at PalmCentral. Any suggestions on locations or stronlgy preferred alternatives?
-Whatever is needed for apps/docs requiring "Doc".
-Whatever is the core app for Teal related items
-MobileDB
-The appropriate version of JFile (Pro or?)

Thanks folks.

Some answers:
* The best free doc reader is CSpotRun. http://www.mindspring.com/~clagett/...trun/index.html
* If you want to edit docs, you can use shareware QED. http://www.visionary2000.com/qed/
* Teal is a company with multiple products. http://www.tealpoint.com
* MobileDB is a database product. http://www.mobilegeneration.com/products/

For a doc reader, I use TealDoc http://www.tealpoint.com for somethings, and iSilo http://www.iSilo.com for others. iSilo comes with a converter that takes HTML files (but with a specific ".htm" not ".html" extension) and converts them to a Palm-based format. It doesn't handle tables really well yet, but I think it might handle pages that go a couple pages deep. I can't remember 'cause I don't use it for that.

However, if you don't want to edit docs on your Palm/Visor, find "MakeDocW" (MakeDoc for Windows). It will convert a text file to doc format. It's fairly easy to use... kind of like iSilo's converter, but older.

JFile Pro is currently at version 1.0d, and is the replacement for JFile from what the webpage looks like, http://www.land-j.com ...

Another cool database app that just came out is ThinkDB from Thinking Bytes http://www.thinkingbytes.com . It supports some different form design and layout possibilities, and comes with a fairly nice PC-based database editor. Even though I bought JFile months ago, I just purchased ThinkDB... until 10/31, it's $19.95 instead of $24.95. Not a great savings, but a savings nonetheless.

I don't use MobileDB. I just didn't really like it compared to JFile (and now ThinkDB).

BTW, the best app has not even been mentioned...JOT.

If you keep using graffiti, this is still worth the bucks since it allows you to write big on the whole screen and see the "ink" while you're doing it. Improves accuracy immediately.

Cool

This is a little bit off the topic. It probably should go in the off-topic topics. But I was wondering Chazzz are you the same Chazzz from several Rams message boards that I subscribe to? Just wondering
