I'm a student in highschool and am interested in buying a visor. The thing is, has anyone taken notes on a palm?? Is there any good software for taking notes? Also is there a keyboard that will work with the visor? Taking a lot of notes useing nothing but grafitti seems tiresome.

I don't know about software appropriate for taking notes (I have that question myself!), but ThinkOutside is producing a folding keyboard specifically for the Visor.
www.thinkoutside.com

I e-mailed them and they said it should be available in January.

I used my Palm in high school ( I am now in college and have a Visor). I mostly used it to keep track of tests, birthdays, and of course, play games. My problem with taking notes on it is that I am an engineer. The amount of pure text in my notes is always minimal. If I was a liberal arts person and took history classes, then a Visor with a keyboard would be REALLY nice for taking notes and much less overhead/price than having a full notebook computer. You just have to assess your need--do you want pure text or do you need to write triple integrals while drawing surface areas relating to schematic diagrams and E&M fields associated with it?

I'm using NoteTaker from Evolutionary systems to take notes at meetings. I seem to be able to keep up because NoteTaker has a very strong auto complete feature. As for notes with drawings, you could try diddle, doodle, or Teal Paint although I can't really see much use in them over paper in a class.

Does anyone know if it is possible to manually adapt a keyboard designed for a Palm_
to work with a Visor? Can you use the Visor's
Serial cable and then use a Landware GoType
keyboard?

Anyone tried?

Landware has announced they are going to release a Go! Type for the Visor, but I don't know when it will release.

I'm interested in looking at the folding one from Think Outside... that looks interesting, and I've joined their mail list for when that comes out. :-)

Question

Does anybody know if the thinkoutside keyboard stays open or does
it have to be supported on a desk?
