Cool

It was one year ago today that my Ice Visor Deluxe arrived! Now I don't know how I lived without it. A year ago everyone was grousing about HandSpring and there were dire predictions that they wouldn't be able to meet demand or bulk up their customer service in order to satisfy the need...well...

Christmas Day my beloved IVX got stepped on! Even it's customized leather Vaja case couldn't protect the screen and, there they were - a nasty set of cracks! On the 26th a very friendly, and seemingly knowledgeable, customer service rep from HandSpring took my card #, charged me $85 and a new unit is on the way. Even though there were all kinds of problems with my original order, once I gave them my SN, they knew who I was and what unit I was replacing. Very impressive!

BTW - when I joined, there were about 1600 people on VisorCentral and since then over 5000 have signed on. Smart folks!

I wrote too soon...it arrived! If you had told me a year ago that HandSpring could deliver a replacement unit within 48 hours, well...

One interesting point...the board within which the screen is mounted is a MUCH darker shade of green than my original. Showing through the Ice case it looks really cool!

Yeah... I remember my first Visor. I had to email Donna Dubinsky in order to get my order out.

I've got a feeling that every year I'll be getting a new one. I started with a Blue VDX, and just ordered a Platinum. Next year it could be a "Millenium" with high-res color you can see outdoors, StrongARM processor, and built-in phone and modem.

Cool

I too was one of the early purchasers, and I did suffer through the shipping delays (that are now a thing of the past).

Now my Visor and I are inseperable. This thing has become the third lobe of my brain. As I become more forgetful with age, my Visor remembers everything for me.

And a few of the applications have literally changed my life (most notably QuikBudget).

So far I have evangelized seven people into actually purchasing Visors, and three others are saving towards one.

They are fun to program as well.

Bought my graphite vdx in January (after the shipping delays) and it has been one heck of a year. Now I'm up to the prism. It's too bad I didn't bump into this website until the end of summer. This has been the place to come for help. It's nice because out here in the boonies there aren't that many people who have a pda or a mac. I'm an outcast in the middle of Bill Gates Land .
